TPL Publications LLC Author Interview

1. Tell us a little about yourself

My name is Fiordaliza Charles-White 37, I was born Fiord'aliza Charles Brath in the Dominican Republic and raised in NYC born. I am a mother of a wonderful 20 YR young lady. I am proud to call my own . I am a Office Assistant with a non profit organization by day and author, poet and the CEO of TPL Publications LLC a company that provides publishing and promotional services. I became an author in 2009 and thus far have accomplished 5 original poetry books, 5 contributions, 3 anthologies and 2 novels with authoress and poetess Talisha Mallory. I am working on editing my first novel because as a publisher I know the importance of publishing a book that an author should be proud to showcase. My motto if you like it, it needs to be improved, if you love it I have done my job. If you cant live without it. It is ready for the world.

2. When did you first consider yourself a writer?

I consider myself a writer at the early age, I was eight years old when I wrote my first poem "I can't speak your language" Written in (Spanish) and later on translated to English.

3. What inspired you to write your first poem or story?

I was teased by some of my classmates for my inability to pronounce and spell certain English words and decided to write a poem to reflect what I was feeling.

4. What book are you reading or have you read recently?

I am currently reading the bible, my pastor suggested I start from the beginning. 

5. If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?

I will have to go with Maya Angelo. 

6. What do you like to do when you’re not writing?

I like to promote others that are doing positive in the community

7. If you couldn’t be an author, what would your ideal career be?

A Doctor or Motivational speaker

8. Can you tell us about your upcoming book or contributions?

I am currently working on a novel with the amazing author/poet Talisha Mallory entitled Sarah's revenge part 2 of "Looking for love in all the wrong places" and working on collecting poetry for the new TPL volume coming this February.

9. How do you cope with writers block?

I normally just sit down have some coffee or tea and then get back to my writing.

10. Do you have any advice for aspiring authors?

The most I can advise them to do is to take their time with the book they are going to publish because many readers will turn away if they see that your book is not edited correctly.
